Accommodation Standards
Generally the standard of B&B accommodation in Ireland is quite high. All members of the Ireland B&B Network are all obliged to honour a Standards Code and many reach a quality "Approved" by the Irish Tourist Board. However, guests are reminded that unlike hotels or guesthouses many B&bs are family homes and as a general rule, there is neither porterage nor room service. Expect a helpful, friendly, polite and often unique level of personal service but please be reminded, that your host or hostess cannot be "on call" 24 hours a day.
Room Rates - Online Enquiries - Bookings
The currency of Ireland is the EURO €. Rates for B&B accommodation are nearly always shown as "per person sharing a room per night" (pps) but special offers, midweek or weekend breaks are often quoted as Room Rates for a period (eg. a room forr 3 nights).
This symbol denotes the availability of a secure credit card booking facility for that particular bed and breakfast or guesthouse.
Room standards
In Ireland B&Bs tend to place their bedrooms within three different
categories: 1. Standard Bedroom (B&B)
This indicates that there is not a bathroom within the bedroom. In this case
there will be shared bathroom facilities in the corridor. Usually there will be
a wash hand basin within the room. 2. En-Suite Bedrooms (B&B)
This indicates that there is a private bathroom within the bedroom. This
will always contain a WC and wash hand basin, plus a Shower and / or bath. 3. Deluxe (B&B)
The standard of B&B accommodation in Ireland is considered to be very
high and deluxe rooms would be available in high end B&Bs and guesthouse
accommodation. Deluxe rooms would often have additional furniture or Jacuzzis
in the bathroom – check the description Single Room
